The Karoo is an arid, sparsely populated region of South Africa that's geologically stable and far away from light pollution. This makes it the perfect location for the Sutherland field station of the South African Astronomical Observatory (SAAO).
This short film gives a glimpse of what happens after nightfall settles over the vast landscape and highly sophisticated telescopes come to life to explore our universe.
